Elementary school has mainly adopted American teaching model.

JCID has academic programs in grade1-12, ranging from primary school to senior high school. Setting up two departments: the English department and the Chinese department. The Chinese department primarily uses textbooks administered by Shanghai Municipal Education Commission while the English department uses American based textbooks. The school has been implementing IBMYP through Grade 6 to Grade 10 and this year intends to implement DP programs. Some distinctive programs as followed: Chinese Language (CSL) & English Language (ESL); Coaching Classes for the College Entrance Examination; IBMYP (International Baccalaureate Middle Year Program)

The school provides basket ball, football, badminton, table tennis, tennis, hockey, for the students. The school also provides pianos and drums for the students to practice. Each semester, there is a field trip, a couple of parties organized by the school and students’ council.

Chinese teachers are from Jincai local school and foreign teachers mostly from North America and one or two from the UK.

JCID is a public school. The school shall follow the government education policy generally.  The school has also adopted a lot of Chinese educational features  to enrich the school teaching, and also laid emphasis on Chinese language learning, which is the main differences for other international schools.

In recent years, all the graduates from JCID have been admitted to top universities at home and abroad, including China’s famous universities such as Peiking University, Fudan University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. We also send graduating seniors to elite American universities such as Columbia University, New York University, Pennsylvanian University and Washington College. JCID has received wide recognition from students and parents for its great achievements.

There are approximately 10 to 25 students in each class. Our school has adopted small-size classes.

The school implements IBO teaching and assessment concept. In the English section, the school has adopts American teaching model with some Chinese features; and in the Chinese section, the school has adopted a Chinese teaching model with a lot of international  features.
